Between 30 rpm the YZF-R7 is making twice the torque of the R6. At its peak, the R7 is making more-than 20 horsepower than the R6 at 7000 rpm. The new Yamaha R7 completely dominates the short-stroke and highly strung R6 all the way up to 9500 rpm. At 72hp I’m sure it’ll feel like a rocket. (22 year old, 1 year of riding experience on R3 plus dirt bikes when I was younger) I personally think it looks amazing besides maybe the headlight, which I don’t think looks awful. It revs to 12000 rpm, but you don’t need to take it that high to get the most out of its midrange-biased torque band.
